Telegraph Media Group has appointed Joanna Lawrence to the newly created role of Managing Director, Strategy & Client Development. Jo, who has joined the leading publisher from OMD EMEA, will report into the newly appointed Chief Revenue Officer, Chris Forrester.
Jo, who started her career at Mindshare and Naked, had spent over 11 years at the Omnicom media agency and held a variety of roles including Managing Partner Strategy, Deputy Managing Director for OMD EMEA and most recently Chief Content Officer for the agency.
In her new role at the Telegraph, Jo will develop a brand-led, digital-first commercial strategy across the commercial team, taking ownership of trade marketing, ad product marketing, planning and strategy functions. In particular her role will have a strong focus on holistic solutions across the entire Telegraph Media Group portfolio, including print, digital, content marketing, experiential and commerce solutions.
Jo will also take the charge of managing and evolving existing client categories across areas such as Fashion, Luxury & Beauty, Sport, Travel, Financial Services and B2B.
Following Nick Hugh’s appointment as CEO of the group, there have been a number of recent joiners to Nick’s senior team including the appointment of Aki Mandhar as Chief Operating Officer.
