Growing up on an island in the west coast of Scotland, I used to dream of the bright lights of the City. As soon as I finished high school I took a gap year and travelled around South Africa before making the move to Edinburgh to study Events Management at Edinburgh Napier University.

Whilst studying at Edinburgh Napier I worked for Radisson Blu within their Events Department and, after graduating, I was offered a role with one of Scotland’s largest hospitality companies the G1 Group as an assistant manager. I loved the fast pace and social environment at G1 however I realised that I wanted to progress my career within a different industry.  I then began an administrative assistant role within the Head Office at Brodie Melrose Drysdale & Co. Brodies specialise in producing coffee and tea and blend all of their products on site so there was always a wonderful aroma in the office. As a coffee lover, it was a great fit for me at the time.

After six years of living, studying and working in Edinburgh I was dreaming of a life in London so I put my plan into action. Towards the end of 2014 I took a chance, packed my bags and moved to the capital. After a whirlwind of interviews I was offered an EA position with executive search company Ridgeway Partners. I loved the fast pace of the industry and the new challenges that I faced. After a year in the role, I was nominated for a London PA Award by one of our clients. Completely overwhelmed and up against 934 nominees I was shortlisted to final stage and was absolutely delighted to then win my category and the award for Client and Concierge Entertainment.

After two and a half years at Ridgeway Partners I felt ready to move to pastures new. As soon as I met Kathleen and the Lighthouse team their energy and passion sparkled and I knew that it was the perfect fit for me. In my role as Personal Assistant to Kathleen and Project Manager at The Lighthouse Company I manage all aspects of Psyched, as well as assist in the management of all Lighthouse and Childline events.

I am a huge music lover outside of work, playing the flute and the piano. Otherwise, I try to take advantage of exploring everything exciting that London has to offer, travelling to (preferably) tropical destinations and dancing until the small hours with my very best friends.
