I started out my career in the hospitality industry after studying Hotel Management in my hometown of Cheltenham. From here, I went on to manage numerous bars, restaurants and hotels for some prestigious brands. During this time I quickly developed my skills in people management, rapid response, resilience and tenacity for getting the job done.

After a decade in the hospitality industry, and a year travelling in Australia, I felt the time was right for a change and was approached to join glue London, a digital start-up that quickly gained notoriety as one of the most pioneering and provocative agencies in the industry.

During my time at glue I was fortunate enough to be the Executive Assistant to the founders Mark Cridge and Seb Royce, well-respected leaders within the digital space. Back then glue London was still a growing agency so a steep learning curve ensued working within the pressures of a start-up, personally assisting the company founders and helping shape both the company culture as well as dealing with the unique demands of a creative environment and creative personalities!

Being able to work so closely with these forerunners of the digital world meant that I was fully immersed in all things digital and creative. Back in 2005, the acquisition of glue by Aegis demanded that I operate at the top level of the corporate community, engaging clients at the highest level and supporting the agency management team in defining and implementing the company’s values and vision. The growth of the agency over the years helped me expand and develop as an assistant, and a manager to others, allowing me to break from the traditional EA remit.

When the founders moved on back in early 2012, Penny Herriman, CEO, and Nick Bailey, Executive Creative Director, took over the reins of the agency and I personally supported them in implementing their vision of what a modern digital agency should be, thus adding another notch to my EA belt.

After nearly ten years within agency life I felt the time was right for a new challenge. I wanted to apply the professional and people skills I had acquired to a new, exciting venture. So, after meeting with Kathleen, it didn’t take much convincing for me to come join the team at the Lighthouse where I have spent the last three years on an exciting journey.

Working as part of the close-knit team here at The Lighthouse Company, I am responsible for project managing all of our clients and, under Kathleen’s direction, I engage with our treasured candidates on a day to day basis, strengthening the relationship between them and our clients.

In addition to this, I also provide research and intelligence to support our search work, which allows me to maintain an in-depth understanding of our industry and clients’ business. I am a trusted point of contact and a friendly face when Kathleen is in extensive meetings or in the air and handle all client and candidate liaison with the utmost discretion and professionalism.
